When Eric moves home to care for his dying father, he runs from his sadness straight into a Wall of Dicks. Fortunately, there is a hot, imaginary(?) Cockroach to help him confront his grief and his family’s disappointment. An innovative theatrical experience, from the point-of-view of a playwright in his own play.
“Director Jennifer Chang’s staging is elegant, emotionally coherent, and well-paced – The cast is terrific – It takes years of practice to make a play feel this effortless.” –Samuel Garza Bernstein, Stage and Cinema
“Family dysfunction has taken centerstage countless times before, and Eric Reyes Loo is far from the first playwright to tackle terminal illness and loss, but rarely has this been done with more originality and flair than in Death And Cockroaches. Just remember to leave your prudishness at the door.” –Steven Stanley, StageSceneLA
