PAST PRODUCTIONS : FAMILY PLANNING

"'Planning' is a voyeuristic glimpse into one couple’s meltdown that is as funny as it is ultimately wrenching."

   --F. Kathleen Foley, LA Times

"For those tired of the stodgy proscenium, this production provides a wonderful respite, as well as a reminder of the voyeuristic thrill of live theater."

FAMILY PLANNING is a brutally funny play about a late-thirties couple trying so hard to have a baby, they’re veering toward divorce.

But this isn’t just another night at the theatre. Because FAMILY PLANNING will NOT be showing at a theatre near you. FAMILY PLANNING will be performed in real living rooms in real homes.

With whiffs of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Hamish and Olivia have the worst fight of their marriage—with a house full of guests. And just like the guests of the play, you will feel the danger of the marital disaster unfolding before you.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Not only will you go from living room to kitchen to watch the action, the audience will then be split in two: one half to watch His Side of the story and the other half to watch Hers. And when the play is over, the real discussion can begin!

Touching on topics of marriage, miscarriage, fertility treatments, and the trend of starting families “later in life”, our mission is to spark a much-needed discussion about the psychological toll of family planning.

Join us for an unforgettable experience. This is as real as theatre gets.
