Susan Coyne

An actor and founding member of Soulpepper Theatre Company, Susan’s bestselling memoir, Kingfisher Days, was published by Random House in 2001, and she later adapted it for a sold-out theatre run. (The play has since been re-mounted at the Thousand Islands Playhouse, and in Nashville as part of the Tennessee Womens’ Theater Project.) Susan received three Gemini Awards for her work on the acclaimed television mini-series Slings and Arrows with co-creators Bob Martin and Mark McKinney. She also received three Writers Guild of Canada awards for the show. Susan’s short film, How Are You, written and directed with Martha Burns, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008. Recently, Susan has been story editing a series for CTV and has written a Variety Special for the CBC. Her adaptation of Chekhov’s Three Sisters will be produced at the Stratford Theatre Festival in 2009.
