Jerry Ruiz is a director and writer. Recent productions include The King is Dead by Caroline V. McGraw, Rattlers by Johnna Adams for Flux Theatre Ensemble, The Bus That Got a Cut Over Its Eye by Matthew Paul Olmos (INTAR) and Waiting for the Hearse by Jacobo Langsner for Mixed Blood in Minneapolis. Past productions include Bohemian Lights at Repertorio Espanol and Translation of Signs at HERE Arts Center. Jerry has developed work at Second Stage Theater, Soho Rep, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights Realm and INTAR. Upcoming projects include Kiss Bessemer Goodbye by Tencha Avila at Repertorio Espanol and Quiara Hudes’ 26 Miles at Arizona State University. UCSD credits: Labyrinth of Desire, Blood Wedding, Election Day by Josh Tobiessen, and The Near East by Alex Lewin. Jerry was a Resident Assistant Director for Baz Luhrmann’s production of La Boheme on Broadway from 2002-2004, a member of the 2008-2009 Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, and Van Lier Directing Fellow at Second Stage from 2007-2009.
